Emme started it all. 

A Plus Size Model in the 1990s, she took the fashion industry by storm.   People magazine named her one of the "50 Most Beautiful People" in 1994 and 1999.  She was Glamour’s “Woman of the Year” in 1997, and Ladies’ Home Journal selected her as one of its "Most Important Women in America" in 1999.

I actually met Emme a couple of years ago.  She hosted a luncheon series on the body, mind and soul. My friend Julie Anna Alvarez, of Happy Chi Solutions, was the guest speaker.   

Plus Size Models have come a long way.  The Huffington Post just release its list of the Top Ten Plus Size Models taking over the runways today.  They are:

APRIL FOOL'S!

It's Spring.  It's April.   Here's a foolish notion .... public urinals.

Or not so foolish in Amsterdam.  Here are some urinals from my trip to Amsterdam last year.  I was just there again last week and did not see the public urinals any longer.  Guess the city wised up and realized how unfair it was for men to be free to unzip and pee in public, while women still have to hunt for a store with public stalls.

Do you see the family crossing in front of him?

The public urinals were everywhere last year.

This year, I could not find them at all.

These are the old public urinals.

These you can still find in the parks and some busy streets.

They are much more discreet.

But were are the bathrooms for women?!

PANTYHOSE....MANTYHOSE?!

Yes, Carmen, real men do wear pantyhose, and we are not talking cross dressers here. 

Attention, Metrosexuals everywhere -- Mantyhose have crossed over the pond.

Mantyhose are the HOT new trend in men's fashion in Europe.  This trend is just hitting the U.S., with one store in Granville, Ohio, selling them.  I would have thought the trend would hit New York first, but I guess there is a male fashionista out west.

Mantyhoses can be ordered online, and they come in all patterns, including checks, dots, crossword puzzles, and my favorite, barbed-wire.  (I would love to see a cowboy in those!)  And, you can even order designer styles from Emilio Cavallini for $40 a pair.
